The Heritage 1945 Service Boot Description

Crafted with precision and a deep appreciation for timeless craftsmanship, the Heritage 1945 Service Boot combines premium materials and historical design elements to deliver a boot of unmatched quality and character.

Leather: This boot is made from Horween’s renowned CXL Brown Horsehide Chromexcel leather, produced through a meticulous tanning process that has been perfected over a century. This leather boasts a rich, deep brown hue that develops a beautiful patina over time, making each pair truly unique. Horween’s signature stamp is proudly featured, reflecting its legacy of excellence.

Designed on a vintage mid 1940s military service boot last, this boot pays homage to the functional yet refined style of mid-20th-century military footwear.

Throughout the early years of WWII, service shoes underwent rapid evolution. Large-scale field maneuvers revealed premature sole wear, leading to a vital improvement—the development of the Composition Sole Service Shoe, Type II. This new iteration introduced a rubber tap attached to the leather outer sole, effectively doubling its wear time.

Boot Height: Standing at 6 inches, the boot offers optimal support and versatility, suitable for both rugged use and refined wear.

Toe Style/Structure: A robust 1.75″ to 2.25″ Water Buffalo toe box provides a structured and durable front profile, adding both strength and a touch of classic style.

Sole Stitching: The boot features stitchdown construction, known for its durability and flexibility. This model includes double-threaded stitching for added resilience and a secure bond.

Heel Profile and Edge Color: The classic 1 1/2″ heel is finished with a bottom brown stain and treated with Saphir dye, offering a rich, polished appearance that complements the boot’s overall aesthetic.

Welt: Leather stitchdown welt construction ensures superior durability and flexibility, enhancing the boot’s longevity and comfort.

Shank: A 6″ metal shank provides essential arch support and stability, maintaining the structural integrity of the boot even during extended wear.

Style: Rooted in history, this design can be best described as a classic service boot, combining utilitarian function with refined style.

Laces: Candle-waxed laces add a touch of sophistication while offering durability and ease of use.

The Heritage 1945 Service Boot is more than footwear—it is a testament to enduring quality, tradition, and craftsmanship. Whether worn in rugged environments or as a statement piece, this boot is designed to stand the test of time.
