About Shoe Shining at One of Our Locations

My name is Jacoby Morales, and I joined Classic Shoe Valet & Co. at the end of September of last year. I work in our Las Vegas location, and I’m working hard every day to bring you a shine that rivals the 5 star entertainment found in Las Vegas!

I look forward to the day I can polish your cherished shoes. Thank you in advance for your support!

Now, as part of my introduction, I’d like to explain the process of shoe shining at one of our Signature locations.

First, we use cotton soaked in alcohol to wipe the inside of the shoes, ensuring cleanliness.

Next, we smooth out the welt using sandpaper and apply leather dye to restore its color.

Then, we use a plant based leather cleaner to remove old dirt and buildup from the leather.

Properly cleaning the shoes is a crucial step, but it can be quite challenging to determine which stains can be removed and how thoroughly they should be cleaned—something I continue to refine.

Next, we apply cream, gently massaging it into the leather with our fingers.

By assessing the condition of the leather and using the right amount of cream, we can enhance its natural luster.

One of the most challenging aspects is selecting the right color of cream to match the shoes. In some cases, we even have to mix different creams to create the perfect shade, which requires precision and experience.

Finally, we move on to the mirror shine process!

Once the base is prepared, we wrap red flannel cloth around our finger, carefully layering wax to achieve a high-gloss finish.

However, this step requires extreme precision.

If the shine appears uneven or if dust gets trapped in the wax layers, it won’t meet our required standard for approval.

Shoe shining demands meticulous attention to detail, and at first, I found it overwhelming. There were moments when I felt discouraged, but I kept pushing forward to refine my technique.

Next, we use a goat hair brush to smooth the wax layers, followed by the final water polishing step.

Completely eliminating cloudiness through water polishing is the most difficult part of the process… It requires patience and a precise touch.

This was a brief overview, but this is the Classic Shoe Valet & Co. Chair Shine process!

In addition to leather shoes, we also offer counter polishing for suede, and sneakers, so feel free to visit us anytime!

I’m pushing forward toward my official debut—one more step to go!

This was Jacoby, signing off!
